If you developed non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma after using RoundUp, or other cancers, you could be entitled to thousands, maybe even millions of dollars in compensation for your injuries. An herbicide found in RoundUp, called glyphosate, is known to cause cancer.

In 2018, Bayer purchased Monsanto for $63 billion, which also gave it ownership over the herbicide RoundUp. Shortly after, the company had to deal with an ongoing lawsuit that involved more than 10,000 claims from people alleging that RoundUp was causing cancer in the people who used the product. Even though Bayer has said that RoundUp is safe and has continued to sell the product without adding warning labels of any kind, it eventually agreed to a settlement.

Class-Action Lawsuit for RoundUp Causing non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

The lawsuits against Bayer began after 2015, when the World Health Organization (WHO) reported that glysophate could cause cancer. In August 2018, a plaintiff received $289 million after the court decided his non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma was connected to RoundUp use. In March 2019, a plaintiff was awarded $80 million after a court decided his cancer was linked to RoundUp.

In June of 2020, Bayer settled a lawsuit for $10 billion, making it one of the largest settlements in history. This amount is meant to cover litigation costs as well as compensation for around 95,000 cases.

In a class action lawsuit, the company Bayer was also required to set aside more than $1 billion to compensate future claims by people who have used RoundUp and have developed cancer, specifically non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Like Johnson & Johnson, Bayer has attempted to appeal the lawsuits that required Bayer to pay out money to plaintiffs.

This is a textbook example of a class action lawsuit that you are able to join, and can be rewarded for your injuries at the hands of the defendant. By joining the class action lawsuit, you have no financial obligations. Lawyers only receive legal fees after the case has already been won. If you or a loved one has suffered damages after using RoundUp, you may want to reach out to a trial lawyer who has experience with RoundUp lawsuits. They may be able to add you as a plaintiff to a case or begin a new lawsuit.

Unfortunately for Bayer, its troubles may not be over for awhile, since it still faces more than 30,000 claims from RoundUp users who did not agree to take the settlement.

Depending on the details of each case, plaintiffs from the settled lawsuit are set to receive between $5,000 and $250,000 to cover damages.
